Anglian Water Boat Fishing

Iain has over 40 years experience on all Anglian Waters but specialises on Rutland and Grafham. Iain has a reputation for capturing Rutlands huge brown trout and these “Big Brown Bash Days” are very popular with all ability of anglers and many go away with their personal best Brown Trout.

Iains laid back and easy going approach ensures you not only learn more skills but he ensures you are at ease and have fun along the way.

Buzzers and Nymphs

Possibly the most exhilarating experience as your arm is almost pulled out its socket with the big Rutland and Grafham Rainbows or Huge Brown Trout! Learn the art of fishing static and  the infamous Iain Barr ‘long lift and hang’

High and Dry

The ultimate dry fly experience as we chase the often large Rainbows in Rutland and Grafham shallows or across the meandering windlanes through the open water. Learn how to know what style of dry fly to choose and how to make the perfect cast to ensure  an interception to your fly.

On The Pull! 

The thrilling art of pulling lures at often break-neck speeds offers something quite spectacular to the fly angler. Watch as the trout chases your fly through the waves before launching its final assault as is and it takes the fly. Learn the choice of fly line to use and the various retrieves needed with this exciting technique

Big Brown Bash Days

The most popular experience towards the end of the season, this can lead to a day not to forget. Rutland, named ‘The Mecca’ of fly fishing by Iain hosts some of the biggest numbers of large brown trout in the UK. Many are found at great depths but not all…. Learn where to locate these magnificent creatures and more importantly the wide variety of techniques to catch that possible fish of a lifetime!

Iain is the resident guide at Elinor where he can offer both bank and boat fishing experiences

Other Venues

With major titles won on Chew Valley and Blagdon, Bewl Water, Draycote Water Lake of Mentieth and Loch Leven no venue is too far. If you want to see how Iain tackles such venues, he is willing to travel there. (costs may vary to cater for travel)

Iain can cater for 1 or 2 anglers in the boat on Anglian Waters or Elinor and multiple anglers on the bank. Iain has other highly experienced anglers at his disposal should you have a party who wish to experience fly fishing afloat.

Your Day

You day incliudes all permits, boat hire if applicable, all the flies you need for the day and more which are free to take home, fish and fun! All tackle can also be provided. A UK Rod license is required by all anglers.

Booking is recommended early for peak months March to June and Sept to Dec.
