Our Reservoirs, especially Draycote and Rutland, and our lakes are amass with huge shoals of perch. The fry make up for many of the millions we see around the margins through late summer to the winter months.

This is a variant on my other poppers with the straggle body with yellow eye a favourite with some. Certainly plenty in my boxes!

Many fish these on floaters which is awesome but try them on sinkers too, it works!

If there’s fry in your fishery, you have to have these!

A must have pattern for Rutland and Grafham where Perch are abundant along with Draycote Pitsford and Chew

Iain Barr Tip – Fish static as a single fly for best results AND trim any excess skin to leave just a bit of fur out the back if you are getting refusals or nips. Fish this if perch fry are present.
